Driving Information, Map ... and The House Rules (or The Fine Print ) :

 

Driving Information:

Yosemite West is conveniently located midway between Yosemite Valley and the Wawona/Giant Sequoias Mariposa Grove area. Drive to Yosemite National Park; after entering the park, proceed to Yosemite West.

* From San Francisco and Sacramento, driving time is approx. 4 hours via Hwy. 120.

* From San Jose, driving time is approx. 4 hours via Hwy. 140.

* From Los Angeles, driving time is approx. 5 1/2 hours via Hwy. 41.

* During summer only, driving time is approx. 4 hours from Reno using Hwy. 395 and Hwy. 120.

House Rules:

 

  • Yosemite Sunset House is smoke-free (inside and outside) and no pets. Pets will be considered only in special cases and by prior arrangement - in writing; pet fee to be determined. Please note: dogs cannot be left alone in our units unless crated. We reserve the right to inspect premisses during and after your stay and you will be charged for non-compliance.
  • Due to the fact that there are 53 steps to reach the upper level, the house is not suitable for those with walking difficulties; the pay off is a beautiful unobstructed view of the forest top!
  • We request that you honor the tranquil forest setting by keeping the noise level to a minimum (playing loud music, loud TV, yelling or otherwise loudly congregating outdoors). The neighbors in Yosemite West thank you for your consideration.
  • No "party animals", this is not a "party house"; you will be asked to leave and will forfeit all monies paid in case of non-compliance.
  • Sorry ... no candles or incense burning is allowed in the house, on the decks or anywhere on the property.
  • Prepaid advance reservations are required. Security deposit is refundable except for damages, missing items, phone charges, and extra cleaning service (if needed). Balance of the refundable deposit will be returned to renter within 30 days.
  • Phone: one land line for local calls only; most cell phones do not work in Yosemite, bring your calling card to use with our land line. There is a public phone at the entrance to the Yosemite West development by the mail boxes.
  • Monthly tenants to pay all utilities used during the rental period; bills will be provided upon request.
  • Your first payment (50% of total) must be received within 3 days of booking to secure your dates. Final payment due 30 days prior to arrival; no refunds thereafter. Payment can be made by personal check when plenty of time is available for the mailing and cashing time required. International transactions incur a 4% surcharge and can be made via wire or credit card. Reservation changes/cancellations subject to fees and/or forfeitures, only hard copy written cancellation notices sent through the postal system are accepted; emailed requests are not sufficient.
  • Cancellation policy in effect:
    * Cancel with 60 days notice - first payment/deposit will be returned minus a $ 35.00 service fee.
    * Cancel with 30 to 60 days notice - 50% of first payment/deposit will be forfeited unless unit can be re-rented, minus a $65 service fee.
    * Cancel with less than 30 days notice - will incur a processing fee of $95 and 100% of monies paid will be forfeited unless unit can be re-rented.
    * No refunds after check-in for any reason.
  • Extra cleaning fees cannot be waived; extra cleaning fees, if any, will be determined by the housekeeping personnel; staff will inspect premisses after your departure.
  • You are required to broom clean the unit including the kitchen, wash all dishes used and take with you all the garbage when you leave the property.
  • You may bring your own linens (sheets and towels) for a small discount. (with the environment in mind, we offer this option in order to save water in our community).
  • No motorhomes or campers. Firewood not included in rates and wood stove not to be used by rentors - no exceptions!
  • This home is not child-proofed. Families w/ children under 7 years old must bring their own waterproof mattress overlays or pads.
  • Rates may be higher for holidays and special events. Rates are based on specific unit (upper level only, lower level only or both), seasons and number of people. Transient Occupancy Tax does not apply to monthly rental rates. Special mid-week and off-season rates are available, please inquire.
  • Occupancy above the maximum number of 8 people is not allowed.
  • Renters to sign the "Waivers" document required by owners and provide credit card info.
  • Owners are not responsible for adverse conditions: snow, road, weather, and/or utilities or for the unavailability of the house for rentors' use due to natural causes or circumstances beyond owners' control, including the unavailability or untimely housekeeping services.
